The Centaurus Mall, Islamabad inaugurated as Tobacco-Smoke Free Facility

Islamabad—setting a commendable example for other shopping malls of the city, Centaurus shopping mall has declared itself a tobacco-smoke free facility.

In this regard, formal inauguration of the plaque took place at the shopping mall in which the Centaurus management, officials of the Capital Administration & Development Division (CADD) and members of civil society took part. The inaugural ceremony took place after an orientation and training of the mall management by CADD officials.

The step is part of Tobacco Free Islamabad initiative, said an official of the CADD. He lauded Centaurus management for voluntarily adopting the sign board of tobacco free facility and for declaring all its floors tobacco-smoke free.
We are moving towards making Islamabad a model city for implementation of tobacco control laws through “Tobacco-Smoke Free Islamabad” project, said the CADD official.

The CADD delegation comprised Dr. Minhaj Us Siraj, Deputy Director General (Health) CADD, Islamabad, Muhammad Aftab Ahmed, Project Manager CADD and Dr. Faud Aslam, Technical Advisor, The Union International while Centaurus Management was represented by Talat Mahmood Khan, GM Mall & Residencia, Imran Maqsood Khan, Manager Administration/HR and Lt Cdr Tariq Mahmood, Manager Safety & Risk Assessment.
