National University and Modern Languages (NUML) and Tobacco – Smoke Free Capital (TSFC) signed MoU on tobacco control

The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and the Tobacco-Smoke Free Capital (TSFC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create awareness of the hazards of tobacco among students. The Director General NUML, Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal and Project Director CA&DD, Dr. Minhaj us Siraj, signed the MoU during a ceremony held at the NUML on Thursday. Director ORIC, Dr. Karamat, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, Dr. Fouad Aslam Technical Advisor- The Union International, Muhammad Aftab Ahmad Project Manager TSFC and others were present on the occasion. The Director General NUML, Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal, in his address said that the NUML was already declared as a no smoking university and discouraged this hazardous habit especially in youths. He said that the NUML in collaboration with the TSFC could effectively fight against tobacco smoking at the university premises by conducting awareness seminars and workshops. The DG NUML said that the NUML would strictly abide by the Tobacco Control Laws of the Government of Pakistan and would leave no stone unturned in this regard. He further said that awareness seminars could help the faculty and the students to quit smoking.
